Massage Can Compliment Chiropractic.

More clients to help..what a great thing that would be.  Recently I was invited to a Chiropractor's office to offer chair massage to his patients.  I worked on 18, and as tired as I was after, I still felt recharged. I get such a wonderful feeling from helping people feel better.  Massage is such a wonderful tool to compliment Chiropractic adjustments.  When muscles are stiff and knotted, they shrink and pull on the places they attach to. They can actually pull the skeletal system out of alignment.  Many Chiropractors use massage therapists to loosen the muscles to make their adjusting easier.  For all of you who use Chiropractic, call me and schedule a loosening appointment before your session to help it go smoothly.

How Can I Change It

I can understand shy...  I was painfully shy, believe it or not, in high school.   I understand women having bad experiences with men and not trusting men again. I can understand women worrying about having their bodies judged.  I can understand men being jealous or freaking out over the thought of their ladies being touched by another man, no matter if that touch is therapeutic and totally non sexual. I can understand anyone fearing the unknown or fearing being undressed with someone they barely know.  I can understand people feeling vulnerable on a massage table.  I can somewhat understand people who are homophobic and worry about being touched by another man. I admit to being a bit apprehensive the first time another man massaged me.

Someone please tell me how I can get around all that to get to help people with my massage skills.  My regular clients are so comfortable with me they sometimes even doze off during their massage.  They count on me to fix their aches and pains and help them relax. They trust me. Their trust is the most precious gift any of them ever bestow upon me.  I want more and more people to trust me enough  to let me help them.

HOW CAN I CHANGE IT????

I Want To Understand

Human touch is the most natural part of our being.  It starts the moment we leave the womb, and in a caring, nurturing family, it follows us all our lives.  Somewhere along the line on this journey, many people lose that wonderful part of life.  Sometimes the touch we receive from our loved ones isn't so nurturing, and can even be painful and abusive.  Sometimes it happens that we lose loved ones and the touch stops.  Whatever the reason we lose the touch or the touch is not so great, we can get that feeling of being nurtured again through a caring, nurturing massage therapist.
